Petra Jordan
Petra is an archaeological and historical city in the Jordanian governorate of Ma'an, which for its architecture, carved rocks and water piping system is known. Around the 6th Founded century BC as the capital of the Nabataeans, it is a symbol of Jordan and the most visited tourist attraction. It is situated on the slopes of a basin between the mountains, the eastern flank of Arabah (Wadi Araba), the large valley running from the Dead Sea in the Gulf of Aqaba to form. Petra is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1985.
